Although it is one of the 4 Cs and an essential 21st century skill, communication is often overlooked in our classrooms. This session will highlight and discuss specific Web 2.0 tools and mobile apps used with students to promote engagement and enhance communication in the classroom. Participants will have time to explore and experiment with the new tools. We will explain which digital tools we recommend to aid student communication in the classroom. We will also discuss general communication strategies and tools that can be used in any classroom. We will first describe the Web 2.0 tools and apps. We will mention cost (if applicable), ease of use, and helpful tips for teachers and students. At the end of the session we plan to build in time for teachers to experiment with the apps and brainstorm other applications for them in the classroom.
