In this session, elementary Teacher Librarians will introduce, discuss, guide, and field questions about the whys and hows of 21st century book talks, which are a traditional way to introduce new books to students and peers. Learning to give book talks can enhance student oracy, oral communication, technology, and comprehension skillls. The skills developed during book talks also scaffold the development of more advanced research and comprehension skills. Session will explorate a variety of tools used in real classrom settings. These include WeVideo, Google Draw, DoInk, Flipgrid, and Google sites. We will also include some low-tech options. Attendees will have time to ask questions.
