We want students to do. We want students to make. We want for learners to seize agency in their own learning, to exercise choice and advocate for voice. In connected classrooms offering limitless access to information for students to consume, we Educators dream of contextualized and meaningful learning that empowers students to harness the powerful technology at their fingertips in ways that allow them to occupy the role of producers. But beyond the hype, platitudes and buzz words, what does this actually look like in real life 2019 classes? And how do we reimagine seemingly consumer-based activities as learning tasks that are inherently production-centered? Join bleeding edge weirdos and educational technologists as we share and explore practical examples from our own lessons and facilitate group discussions on what's possible both now and in the future.
