Imagine students creating their own virtual reality expeditions to demonstrate understanding of language arts, science and social studies content. With free and low cost tools, students can now create their own virtual tours of the setting of a novel, a historical location, natural habitat, or even the human body. Combine this with the ability to teach digital literacy and digital citizenship and you’ve got the ingredients for an amazing unit. Join us as we share several student projects: VR tours of Colorado habitats, VR tour of a high school field trip to South Dakota, VR tour of the human body, and a VR tour of Colorado then and now. Then take a short walk around Keystone as we take our own 360 images. Learn to create your own VR tour using your image. Along the way, you’ll explore audio recording tools, video creation tools, Creative Commons sources of 360 images, and Creative Commons digital images and audio.
