In a world full of fast, brief communication, getting students to slow down and reading deeply is a worthy challenge. Actively Learn is an online reading platform that lets you leverage learning science to better activate, support, and reveal student thinking while reading. Starting with a discussion about the challenges around reading, participants will participate in a mock class in Actively Learn. Afterwards, participants will explore grading and assignment creation in their own accounts. This session is for teachers of any subject area or familiarity with Actively Learn, and is being led by Kelsey Shearer, Digital Teacher Librarian at Ryan Elementary in JeffCo Public Schools where Actively Learn is implemented.
