In this session, we will dive into the problem of practice revolving around the question, "How might we ensure that instructional equity becomes a greater focus in the edtech community?" Come to find like-minded educators who are passionate about equity and the ways that educational technology can be used to provide all students with rich instruction that prepares them for the demands of the future. Implicit and systemic biases frequently show up in the ways we talk about technology with innovative and exciting projects for more affluent populations, while using technology as a means to 'fix' struggling students. While strong pedagogy is essential for student learning, it is also important to recognize it as a means for equity. Come if you are interested in being a part of a community of practice dedicated to increasing the focus on equity in the edtech field at InnEdCO and beyond.
