Bio
Teacher and Learner Educational Technology Consultant Beth Hamlin has been working in education for nearly 2 decades and feels passionate about speaking from experience and with a sense of humor. Beth is an avid collector of digital badges. She became a Google Certified Innovator (Teacher) in Sydney, Australia in 2011, DEN Star, DEN Ambassador, a Google for Education Certified Trainer in 2015, and a Raspberry Pi Certified Educator in Manchester, UK in 2016. She is also a Google Level 1 & Level 2 educator. Beth loves her tiny human Presley, geeky things, and connecting with other educators over their shared love of technology and teaching. She is the Co-founder of the Google Play for Education Community with over 8,000 members and co-monderated with Google for Education, a GEG Colorado CO-Leader, and founding member of the Colorado Educator Network (COEDNet). She also loves presenting at local, state, and international conferences sharing creative ways to utilize technology. Beth is the founder and organizer behind GeekCamp, an EdTech event that integrates the best of formal conferencing and unconferencing. She has also done an international Teaching internship in Wallerawang, Australia working with years 3 and 4; and observing the educational structure of the New South Wales. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an Emphasis in English from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Master’s Certificate in Educational Technology from Regis University. Her goal is to connect with others to collaborate on making the world a better place through the continued improvement of educational experiences for children and adults.
