Description
This ignite presents an innovative way of combining the four Colorado Language Arts standards, into a student-relevant experience, instead of the traditional sit and get education they have had for years. The ignite will explain how students in this environment learn in an interactive classroom, moving through the process of researching a passion, teaching an idea to the teacher and persuading a controversy to their audience, convincing them to agree with their premise. Along the way students are informed by mentors and experts from the community via email, facetime and sometimes actual face to face. Current modes of student delivery of the final products are Ted-Talk-like presentations and Podcasts, which both introduce them to how the world is communicating today.
