Going digital in the classroom should be engaging and interactive, instead of just reading text on a screen. A digitized textbook should offer exploratory opportunities that static, digitized text doesn’t. CK-12’s free collection of digital interactive resources consists of over 1,200 PLIX (Play, Learn, Interact, eXplore), 100 SIMs (simulations), and new, turn-key complete CCSS courses for teachers and students, including custom designed interactives to complement each lesson. Learn how these resources can help students develop skills important to science and math practices, connect ideas between STEM disciplines, and promote real-world applications. This session welcomes a variety of participants such as administrators, teachers, and curriculum specialists - anyone interested in an interactive approach to exploring science and math. We will share ideas for using the PLIX Interactives and SIMs as an instructional tool in class or at home, to differentiate instruction, and to promote students to make real-world connections.
