I have been in education since 1995, working in the Boulder Valley School district. Currently I am the Teacher Librarian at Crest View Elementary. Previously I was a member of the district Educational Technology team for two years, and was a elementary school teacher for 19 years previous to that role. I believe in a student-centered classroom where they have voice in their learning and demonstration of knowledge. I believe in teaching and learning with a purpose. I believe in students having a safe place to learn where risk-taking and failure is part of what leads to success. I am a licensed elementary school teacher, grades K-5. I have taught 1st, 4th and 5th grades. I earned my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in June 2009, and my endorsement as a Teacher Librarian in June of 2018. I believe that collaboration, communication, and a growth mindset is key to teachers and students working together to create special educational experiences.
