Creating a classroom community where every voice is important- how do we do that? In this session, we will share a routine for developing relationships with students and building classroom community, which we call Dig Deep. Participants will experience the Dig Deep routine and consider ways to adapt it to their classrooms. In addition, we plan to share a survey we developed as a formative assessment of classroom community and students' experiences with Dig Deep. We will discuss ways we used the data to improve community and adjust instruction.
